On November 30, 1947, the streets of Jerusalem was filled with jubilation as the Jews celebrate the partition of Israel. The day before, the United Nations General Assembly voted 33 to 12, with 10 abstentions and 1 absent, in favor of the Palestine Partition Plan. The vote was received with much jubilation in Israel. People flocked to the streets in Jerusalem singing, dancing, and waving flags.
