Day 12: Unending Worship

Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

                                       1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

I am not a gym fan, so when I started working out, it took a toll on my muscles. Over time, my body began to adjust, and I could do more.  My muscles are now working from memory. It knew how to respond.  Worship is the same thing as working out. The more we do it, the better it gets.

Unlike a tv show, our life has no commercial breaks or season breaks. It goes on 24/7 for as long as we are here. That means 40 to 60 more years. That is a very long time. And we must continuously give thanks to the very end of our life. We can only do that, if we are intentional in exercising our soul muscles”.

Exercising our spiritual muscles is something that we can do anywhere, anytime, and whatever we are doing. Are you too busy at work or at home to stop and worship God? Not an issue. Do whatever you are doing as though you are doing it for the Lord rather than for people.

Worship is an attitude of the heart. Unending worship is our goal in life.

PRAYER

Lord, I long to worship you with all I am for the rest of my life.  Build in me spiritual muscles that can withstand the challenges that would come my way.  In Jesus’ name, amen.

APPLICATION

Don’t know how to start to build your spiritual muscles? Read Psalm 29 or any Scripture that talks about the goodness of God. Read it out loud over and over again until it gets into your spirit. And as you go about your day, keep thinking about it.  Ask the Holy Spirit to give you revelation knowledge.  It will do wonders to your spiritual muscles.
