Day 18: Hidden and Protected for Release

“For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Colossians 3:3

Are you aware that Moses, Josiah, and Jesus Christ had common experiences in their lives? Their lives were threatened when they were babies but were hidden, protected, and later released for God’s greater agenda.

Moses was hidden by Jochebed, adopted and protected by the Pharaoh’s daughter, and at the age of 80 was released to be the deliverer of the Israelites from four centuries of Egyptian slavery.

Josiah was almost killed by his grandmother Queen Athaliah but was promptly rescued and hidden by his aunt. He was protected by priest Jehoiada, and when he was 7 years old was released to become the rightful king of Judah. His reign included the repair of the Temple and the restoration of Temple worship.

Jesus was to be killed by Herod when he was young, but Joseph hid him in Egypt and later in Nazareth.  He was protected by the Father from countless harms to be released at 30 years old to fulfil his purpose as the Saviour and Redeemer of mankind.

Do you know that your life is hidden in Christ?  Colossians 3:3 says that you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. But there is more!  It means that you are concealed in a place of security. You are protected by God’s agents both in the spiritual and physical realm.  Why? God wants to release you to accomplish the purpose that you alone can fulfil for His kingdom.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, you are my refuge and my strength, my God in whom I trust.  Thank you for your continued protection. I shall wait patiently for the proper time to be released to fulfil the purpose for which You have created me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
