And now, here’s what I’m going to do:
I’m going to start all over again.
I’m taking her back out into the wilderness
where we had our first date, and I’ll court her.
I’ll give her bouquets of roses.
I’ll turn Heartbreak Valley into Acres of Hope.
She’ll respond like she did as a young girl,
those days when she was fresh out of Egypt.
Hosea 2:14-15, MSG
I have always been confident on being God’s beloved. However, as I experienced seemingly unending trials and difficulties for three whole years, I felt He turned His back on me. I felt He never ever answered my prayers anymore. I felt He turned a deaf ear on me no matter how I pleaded to remove the heavy burden from me; I could carry no longer. I felt He forgot about me.
Then, one evening as I worship, He answered me. As I read Hosea 2:14-15, I realized that in this season of dryness, He is taking me by the hand! To speak tenderly to me, to court me, to give me bouquets of roses, to start all over again with me.
God answered me by shifting my mind to the right perspective. Instead of agonizing with each difficult or sulking, I will trust Him for who He is.
PRAYER
Father, help me to trust you even in the most difficult times. Speak to my anxious heart and mind and let peace be upon me. Help me to see and understand that You will never leave me nor forsake me and that you are for me and not against me.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
