Day 40: Thursday, November 29, 2018

Serve for the Lord's Glory

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

                                                                                                 Colossians 3:23-24

The greatest motivation and purpose of service is doing it all for the glory of the Lord. Whether we are serving the church, family, work, or community, our highest and greatest motivation in service should be this alone: everything for His glory!

When we do everything for the Lord —whether it is spiritual or secular work- it is the Lord who will bless us. He will never forget your every ounce of sacrifice and labor of love. God will give you strength and He will sustain you.

The Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) Doing everything for God’s glory means making room for God so that He may increase as we decrease. The more we lift Him up, the more we humble ourselves. The more we humble ourselves, the more God releases His provision, power, protection, and peace.

In everything we do and plan, we should give it to God. “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3) Remember, it is not all about
