Day 38: Tuesday, November 27, 2018

Serve with Patience

And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,”

                                                                                                 2 Timothy 2:24-25

The Bible tells us that love is, first of all, patient. And where is patience usually tested? It is when imperfect people come together to serve, especially in the context of ministry. We often get frustrated when we face circumstances that we cannot control and work with difficult people.

This is where love comes in. We need to love others so that we can be empathize with them, understand their situation, and ultimately bring out the best in one another. Love helps us be patient, allowing us to look through one another’s weaknesses and find a greater joy in Christ

Do you find yourself being tested in the area of patience? Rely on the Holy Spirit as patience is a fruit that He helps to produce in us believers. And if we fail, do not allow condemnation to control you. Remember, Jesus paid for all our sins. Instead, run to His presence, repent, and receive Gods grace. Let God’s mercy teach us the way of patience. After all, He was patient with us first.

PRAYER

Thank You for Your mercy towards me, O God. Empower me
to serve others with love and to always be reminded that
because You are patient with me, I can be patient with others.

APPLICATION
