Serve with Humility
“For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all,
that I might win the more;”
1 Corinthians 9:19
Serving humility is not expressed only in giving your time, talent, and treasure. It is about giving yourself in serving others. Jesus was our great example. He said that “the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28)
Jesus performed many miracles, and no one can duplicate them. On the other hand, Jesus washed the disciple’s feet, an act so simple and humble, yet only few are doing it. The church is full of leaders wanting to see miracles in their ministry but only few are ready to pay the price and become servant leaders. Performing miracles are good but serving others is better. Pride and arrogance may get a hold of us when we become too focused on our gifts but washing another person’s feet gives pride away. To be humble and broken in our service is one of the greatest uses of God’s power in us.
Your greatest anointing and effectiveness only come with humble service. Today is your day to serve others. Remember that whatever you do to the needy, you do it for the Lord. So be glad and serve with humility
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to serve you and others with genuine humility. In Jesus name. Amen
APPLICATION
Today, assess your heart before God and allow Him to show you your true posture when it comes to service. If you see pride within you, ask for forgiveness. Allow God to develop in you a servant’s heart.
