Kingdom Builders
“For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord, begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints.”
2 Corinthians 8:3-4
Wouldn’t you just love it when everyone just participates in a class? When a teacher asks a question – all kids raise their hands in excitement. How about at home when it’s time for chores; do the kids willfully and joyfully do their part and try to outdo one another with service? Now imagine if our churches today behave the same way. When one is called to help a community to share the gospel and bless the poor; do we have an army ready, eager to be part of God’s kingdom work?
In Macedonia, that’s exactly what the church was like. They were exercising all the spiritual giftings and abilities. They were so generous with their time, talent, and treasures that not only did they give, but they were also enthusiastic to do more. They literally begged to participate in God’s work by supporting missionaries, churches, and the poor. Their lavish giving was contagious. They were giving abundantly and with joy to the Lord. This was their secret to prosperity.
PRAYER
Lord, help me to be a generous joyful giver. Allow me to take part in Your Kingdom work. Let me taste and see Your goodness and let my generosity be contagious that others may want to do the same.
APPLICATION
Use your spiritual gifting in Your church. In your own way,
be part of the Kingdom of God.
