Power in Unity
“So we built the wall and the whole wall was joined together to half its height, for the people had a mind to work.” (Nehemiah 4:6)
The book of Nehemiah shows how they were able to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem in just 52 days. That’s about 89 hectares of land that they needed to work on. How could a massive project be done in such a short period of time? The answer is they were laser focused on one common goal. The people were determined to rebuild the broken wall. Their hearts were all united to finish the task that God has called them to do. This gave them power to even battle opposition. No one left their post even if they were persecuted and threatened. They had set their minds to finish the task and they did it with diligence.
The churches today can do so many great things when they understand the power of unity. If everyone understands their calling and mission, the work of Christ will be accomplished. If everyone is determined to let Jesus reign in everything that we do, we will see transformed lives. When the churches unite, the works of the enemies get exposed and the truth is released among God’s people. Communities start to flourish and poverty decreases. Corruption is uncovered and righteousness is set in place. We need to constantly remind every church to stand at their post despite threats and persecution because when everyone stands together, we have power to change the world.
PRAYER
Lord, give us the power to unite as one body. We want to see your kingdom come, Lord. We want to be part of this movement that changes lives, communities, and nations.
