Appreciate Our Differences
“For just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function.”
(Romans 12:4)
Every church is unique. There are some that focus on social justice, others on education. There are some who are house churches while others are community churches. There are those that have the heart for the poor while others are in the business sectors. Wherever God has placed you, that is your unique assignment. No one can ever say that one is better than the other. Forcing one church to look exactly like the other would destroy the work of God.
You see, every church is made for different sets of people. Where one reaches out to the youth, the others may be reaching out to seniors. But each one is as vital and as important as the other. We can just simply say that together, we are greater and stronger. Where one is weak, another may be strong. That is why we need to learn to come together and appreciate one another. We may have different approaches, cultures, plans, and programs. But surely we have One Lord Jesus Christ. Let us rejoice that God has designed us distinctively. That makes the Body of Christ so versatile and fully equipped for every calling. There is a place for everyone.
PRAYER
Lord, help us appreciate our differences instead of criticizing one another. Teach us to find the good in our differences and come together and rejoice in it. Thank you that you love Your church.
