Day 20: Friday, November 9, 2018

Heavenly Thoughts

“When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” (Colossians 3:4)

I believe we don’t think of heaven as much as we should. We are often occupied by the things we do on this earth on a daily basis. We are always concerned about our needs that we become selfish. When our self becomes the center of our life, we then find ourselves battling with the desire for authority, popularity and achievements.

But when we think of heaven and fix our eyes on Jesus, we think less of ourselves and more of Him. We have a thirst to please Him. We have the desire to make Him our top priority in everything that we do. This is how our life should be: a life constantly connected with the source of our life Jesus. If we constantly think of Jesus, then we find ourselves always wanting to glorify God here on earth with all our body, mind, and soul. As we do that, people will start to see Jesus in us. The more we live for Christ instead of ourselves, the more revelation and glory is given to God.

PRAYER

Let my thoughts always be on You Lord. May my eyes be focused on things of heaven and not on things of this earth. May people see only you in my life as I seek to bring glory to Your name.

APPLICATION

Spend 10 minutes each morning, noon, and night thinking about who Jesus is, His great love, and His promises for your life.
