I prayed to you, Lord God, and you healed me, saving me from death and the grave. Your faithful people, Lord, will praise you with songs and honor your holy name.
Psalm 30:2-4, CEV
During a trip to our new church campus, a bus from the opposite direction beat the red light. I thought to myself, if the driver was not fast enough to step on the brakes, the bus would have hit us. I found myself thinking, that was a close call. How many times have God rescued you, not just from road accidents but from life choices that could have cost you time with your family? So often, we don’t even realize that God has rescued us from our selfish desires.
Father, thank you for always keeping me safe and protecting me even through bad life choices. I praise you for you are my shelter and my shield. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Think of the time when God rescued you. Start thanking him for preserving your life.
